Walking in Rest

To dwell in Truth. The Land of the Living.

First, God overwhelmed me with His Love.
Then He exposed the ways my attempts at self-righteousness only pushes me further from Him.
Then He opened my eyes to the ways fear plays into my decisions.
Then He removed guilt for peace.
Then He replaced worry for rest.
Then He exclaimed the glory and treasure that is MY heart.
Now, I'm trying to live in the FREEDOM of Christ ... as my heart slowly awakens.

How can one human heart contain all these beautiful TRUTHS?

This is when REST comes in. While we rest in truth, we are then prompted and stirred to RESPOND.

A pastor said this:
"God sets us FREE to walk in Joy, sets us FREE to love the law and commands of God that transforms our lives and makes us obedient."

I want to be obedient. Obedient why? Because of TRUTH.

What truth?


Well specifically these truths.


Therefore, since the promise of entering his rest still stands, let us be careful that none of you be found to have fallen short of it. For we also have had the gospel preached to us, just as they did; but the message they heard was of no value to them, because those who heard did not combine it with faith. hebrews 4:1-2


Jesus said, "If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."  John 8:31-32

Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart. Psalm 37:4

"I, the LORD, have called you in righteousness; I will take hold of your hand. I will keep you and will make you to be a covenant for the people and a light for the Gentiles ... " Isaiah 42:6

See? I am not alone. Therefore, I walk in

LOVE

HOPE

PEACE

REST

GLORY

and

FREEDOM

To the only God

who is able to keep us,

Able to keep us from falling,

To the only God

Be all GLORY and HONOR,

Majesty and power,

For all ages now and forevermore.
